A Little About Lara

She was born to perform.

Her musical journey started at the young age of 6, taking piano lessons with Legendary 80's music innovator Howard Jones. At 12 she was singing solo and went on to train operatically with Dr. Lynn Berg at Boise State University. She arrived in the Bay Area in 1998 in search of her dream of singing in a band. Lara began running her own blues jam at JJ’s Blues, and was featured in an inspiring article about blues jams in the September 2000 issue of the Blues Revue.

EXCITING MONTH OF MAY

Hey BellyHeads...

May is right around the corner and of course, we need donations so let get them started!!!

Heading to Texas first weekend of May for a little gathering at Mudman Ranch in Midland we call BellyFest 2008. This is the first year of this event which we are beginning small and hope to watch it grow as we have the radio station. The Monty Guitar Tyler Band will be performing throughout the evening of May 3rd and it is our intention to broadcast the performance on The Belly live that night. So besides some blues rockin from Monty and the boys, you'll probably catch some of us BellyHeads making fools of ourselves. Lots of crawfish and beverages expected :) Hopefully everything will go as planned for this year and afterwards can start getting ready for BellyFest 2009!

Some listeners have suggested may be we should start charging monthly to listen to the station and not count on donations. The thought has crossed my mind but then again, during the tough months for some, they wouldn't be able to listen :( We shall see how it goes over the summer months as at this point we have had some good support and Europe has certainly picked up their donations and we appreciate that!

Expecting some more new music to surface this month as most of the bands are getting ready to go on their summer tours/fests so keep your ears to the speakers!

Don't forget on Sunday, 5 p.m. Pacific, "On The 7th Day The Blues Rocked" featuring 4 choice cds in their entirety...
